This device has been obtained on an installment program. PayJoy requires device controls and permissions to ensure that the program works successfully.

What we ask for:

Device Owner Privileges
Act as the Device Owner in order to enforce security policies, update the PayJoy app, launch the PayJoy app from the background, and read device identifiers.

INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
Determine whether or not the phone has an internet connection and use the connection when needed to communicate securely with PayJoy’s server.

FOREGROUND_SERVICE
Run PayJoy as a Foreground Service to ensure proper functioning of the PayJoy Lock.

READ_PHONE_STATE
Read information about the phone such as SIM information and phone number.

READ_CALL_LOG
Manage incoming and outgoing calls when the phone is locked. PayJoy requires this ability in order to allow authorized calls, such as Customer Support.

CALL_PHONE
Begin authorized, customer initiated calls directly from the PayJoy app.

WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Use external storage to save updates to the PayJoy app.

RECEIVE_SMS
Read incoming SMS messages in order to detect messages that allow the phone to unlock in the absence of an internet connection.

QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES
Used to identify and whitelist essential system apps like Wi-Fi settings and the dialer.

PayJoy collects information about installed applications for purposes of fraud detection.

After the PayJoy Lock is activated, PayJoy will request consent to read SMS messages, and contacts in order to make credit offers such as cash loans. Denying consent will not change the installment program terms or device operation.
